It is every diner’s dilemma – you are shown to your table, you take your seat you’re handed not on but two menus – in some cases more. One is A La Carte the other a set menu. Which do you choose? Do you go for your favourite, the best Thai curry, or do you try something new?
At Patara we pride ourselves not just on the quality of our food but also on the variety and selection available. Our A La Carte Thai food menu is the flagship of our restaurants kitchen but we’ve also created a range of other Thai food menus including our Banquet menu, Vegetarian menu, A taste of Patara and coming soon a brand new lunch menu.
Every one of our menus have been carefully created by our chefs, blending the traditional with the inventive, drawing from traditional Thai food restaurant menu options but with a unique twist. The Banquet menu in particular is always a popular choice as it is perfect for tasting what Patara has to offer as is explained in this review by LindseyLuc.
‘I visited for the second time this year and on this occasion selected the set Banquet menu at £38 per head. Mixed starters included Satay Chicken, Prawns with Crisp Beignets, Duck rolls, Thai Fish Cakes and dumplings all served politely with a guide to which sauce/dip accompanies each dish- all were superb. Next we were treated to 4 main dishes, A great Thai Green Curry, Sea Bass, Braised beef and two amazing Prawns served with lime and chillies. All 4 were served with rice and vegetables and all were amazing. We ranked the Prawns 1st, Thai Green Curry, Beef and then the Sea Bass but this was splitting hairs.
By now we could hardly move but I managed to make room for the chocolate pudding and ice cream…just. I believe at £38 per head this was great value for money and a superb feast providing variety and intense flavours. We choose a Chablis at £45 per bottle not cheap but very good. Service was really friendly, booking essential on a Friday or Saturday- we were there on a Sunday and had booked, again probably a good idea as downstairs was closed and at 8pm the restaurant top floor was nearly full
Make a visit if you like Thai food ensure you are hungry and choose the Banquet menu – you will not regret.’
